Modern Emotive Portraits

* Mainly working in a studio in Barcelona, Karina Pioner (Brazil) has put together yet another series of paintings and drawings capturing such an intenseness of emotion that a mere glimpse of one of her modern portraits is enough to overcome the spectator with an urgent sense of curiosity almost certainly leading to a vivid trip among bewildering feelings. Her mild and appetising pallet fills the white canvas with aesthetically pleasing, soothing compositions while the motives and the elaborately posed figures in this colour harmony abruptly challenge this, provoking an almost surprising impact on the beholder. Karina Pioner has been an active artist since 2000 and has previously displayed her work in Paris , Istambul and Barcelona , and now for the first time in Brussels .
